Milos

 

Milos, also known as the island of Venus, the god of love and beauty according to greek mythology. It belongs to West Cyclades in the Aegean sea and the permanent residents of the island are about 5000. It is very likely that you have heard about it thanks to its numerous, unique and magnificent seasides, but also for its mineral rich subsoil and the Catacombs. Most days of the year the sun shines as the climate is mediterranean. In summer, it is very possible to fall upon winds that last for some days. The main harbour is Adamas and there is also the harbour in Pollonia, from where you can visit Kimolos, an island near Milos. Capital of the island is Plaka with traditional, characteristic narrow streets and a spectacular view of Milos. Triovasalos, Pera Triovasalos, Tripiti, Zefiria are some of the most known villages. Many others exist.
